For those who need access to education, a dual track English and French schooling is available from K through 12 in Golden with bus services to the schools. The local campus College of The Rockies is located in downtown Golden.

Health services in the Town of Golden are superior to most other smaller communities of a similar size. Golden has a full service hospital, an excellent medical clinic and two dental clinics. Stars ambulance service fly into Golden for transfers to Calgary, Alberta, for any critical treatment requirements. There are also numerous physiotherapists, chiropractors and naturopathic facilities in town.

Within the Town of Golden, recreational amenities include an ice arena, curling rink, swimming pool, ball fields and a soccer field along with a skateboard park and a tennis court. A private gym and racquet ball courts are available to members.

For those who like to enjoy the snow, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort offers some of the best powder skiing in the Rockies. In addition to Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Golden offers unparalleled heli-skiing, cat skiing, snowmobiling and the best selection of back country ski touring and hiking lodges in Canada.
Even for cultural events, you don’t have to look far in Golden. An active arts council brings many cultural events to Golden on a regular basis. The town also boasts a few festivals and great summer Farmers Markets.
